Cold, Cold, Cold
The last few days have reminded me of Annie Lennox' song 'Cold, Cold, Cold'. It's below zero Celsius and that not only during the night, no, I'm talking day as well and in addition to all that there's a nasty wind from the NE that does nothing but letting you feeling even colder.
Looking at my thermometer, it seems to be around -3 Celsius, but when I go out, it rather feels like -10 or so. Chill factor, they call it and it depends on wind velocity. Wind Chill Factor - or temperature - is dependent on temperature as well as wind velocity. The formula looks a bit frightening:
WCTThis formula is being used since November 2001= 13.12 + 0.6215⋅Ta - 11.37⋅v0.16 + 0.3965⋅Ta⋅v0.16
Where WCT - I'm sure you guessed it - is the wind chill temperature, Ta is the temperature in degrees Celsius of the air and v is the wind velocity in km/h (measured 10 m above ground level).
Cold, cold, cold indeed. Cold as a witches tit.

Winter has frozen us
Let love take hold of us
(Cold cold cold)
Now we are shivering
Blue ice is glittering
(Cold cold cold)
